A complete failure as a nanny.
February 5, 2026
Our termination letter lays it all out. It is simply impossible that Jane has 12 five-star reviews because she is reckless, reticent, and recalcitrant in all respects. The last straw for me was when our baby's feet turned purple due to her refusal to put socks on him during chilly weather, and this was compounded when I repeatedly instructed her to put the baby in the crib to sleep, rather than hold him in her arms, and she again refused. She would spend hours in the kitchen, leaving the baby by himself, often in wet diapers or blankets, or both. It took two hours to fire her and get her to leave, during which she made numerous excuses and tried to stay, while extracting as much money from us as possible. It was confirmed we made the right decision when we opened our baby's diaper for the first time after firing Jane, and he had moderate diaper rash. No wonder he was uncomfortable and crying. What a pathetic excuse for a nanny. This is a public service announcement and warning for parents that Jane does not actually like babies and should not be a nanny. Why is she even a nanny if she doesn't like babies and doesn't care for their well-being? This is especially important as a PSA because newborn infants are highly vulnerable and a lying, reckless, and unreliable nanny is flat-out dangerous.
My wife also has a few things to say: "She didn’t do any treatment for me as she stated in her profile. Tom’s feet were turning to dark purple and she refused to wear socks for him. I had to get up in pain to wear socks for Tom after telling her multiple times. Tom’s feet then went back to normal color since he started wearing socks. I later asked Tom’s pediatrician to confirm that his purple feet were caused by cold. I don’t understand how she got 5 stars. But for many moms, while we’re recovering in bed, we can’t really see or supervise her on baby care. One afternoon, Sherry said Jane was spending the whole afternoon on the phone getting a concert ticket in Vegas while leaving Tom alone in his room." That says it all.
